CTN: Signed lease contract for six Airbus A220s

Below is the announcement of the national air carrier, Croatia Airlines, about the signed contract for the lease of the first six Airbus A220 aircraft, the purchase of which has already been contracted with Airbus.

“Croatia Airlines, the Croatian national airline, in accordance with its Post-Covid strategy, has made a decision to replace all existing aircraft with a new unified “single type” fleet by 2026, and to completely switch to jet-powered aircraft, thereby ensuring better quality and more comfortable flights for its passengers , but also a more economical and sustainable operation. After a detailed analysis of the market and aircraft offers, Croatia Airlines has chosen the manufacturer Airbus and the A220 aircraft, with a capacity of 148 (A220-300 series) and 127 seats (A220-100 series) for deliveries in the period from 2024 until 2026.

For now, the plan is to replace 12 aircraft, with the possibility of adding 3 more units in 2027, as the strategy foresees.

Further to the above, we would like to inform you that for the first six A220 type aircraft (four A220-300 aircraft and two A220-100 aircraft), the Company has concluded the corresponding lease agreements with Air Lease Corporation Clover based in the Republic of Ireland as the lessor.

Upon selection of the lessor for the remaining six aircraft with deliveries in 2025 and 2026, the investment public will be informed in a timely manner.”
