The Croatian Ministry of Defence has announced a public call for applications for military pilots, continuing efforts to strengthen personnel capacities within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia. The selection process targets ten candidates for officer positions in military aviation, aiming to attract highly educated young individuals ready for a demanding and long-term training path.
The call is open to candidates who have completed at least an undergraduate university or professional study programme, regardless of field, with an age limit of up to 27 years by the end of 2026. In addition to general legal requirements for military service, applicants must not have any disqualifying conditions and will undergo a series of medical, psychological, and security assessments.
The training process is structured in several phases. Candidates who have not completed voluntary military training will first undergo basic military training. However, all candidates must complete preparatory training beforehand, which includes selection flying. This stage often represents a key filter, assessing flight aptitude, spatial awareness, and real-time decision-making.
Following basic training, candidates proceed to Basic Officer Training. Upon completion, they are admitted into active military service, commissioned with their first officer rank and assigned to duties within the military aviation system. All training and subsequent service take place within the territory of the Republic of Croatia.
The call also outlines administrative requirements. Applicants must submit a CV, proof of education, a pension insurance record extract, proof of citizenship, a birth certificate and a certificate confirming no ongoing criminal proceedings.
The application deadline is 14 days from the publication of the call in the Official Gazette.
More information on the requirements and application procedure is available on the official website of the Croatian Ministry of Defence.
