The Croatia Control (CROCONTROL) recorded a drop in traffic in Croatian airspace of more than 65% in the 2020 season, caused by COVID-19 pandemic.

In the segment of overflights through the airspace of the Republic of Croatia, these figures are: 132,253 overflights in the period March 29-October 24, 2020, which is 68.59% less than in the 2019 season (March 31-October 26) when there were 421,019 overflights.
Regarding IFR GAT (Instrument Flight Roules – General Aviation Traffic) traffic at airports in the 2020 season, 30,942 take-off / landing operations were performed, which is 65.12% less than in 2019, when 88,701 operations were performed.
The biggest decline in this segment was recorded by Dubrovnik Airport with as much as 72.44% followed by Pula with 68.54% and Zagreb with 66.18%.

Although better, the figures from the beginning of the year also decreased by more than 50%.
There have been 222,548 overflights since the beginning of the year, which is 56.65% less than in 2019, when there were 513,330 overflights.
IFR GAT traffic at airports recorded a total drop in traffic of 58.63% with 46.2019 operations versus 111,717 in 2019.

It is evident that Dubrovnik is the airport most affected by the pandemic.
The total traffic (LDZOTOT) from January 1 to October 25, 2020 is about -43% of the 2019 traffic. According to the available predictions of Eurocontrol, no increase in traffic is expected by the end of the year.
CROCONTROL could end the year with a deficit of more than 55% compared to 2019.
