Atlas Air with Boeing 767-300 at Zagreb Airport

 

U.S. Air carrier Atlas Air (5Y/GTI) with arrived to Zagreb Airport on Sunday, May 16th with a Boeing 767-300. It arrived on an unscheduled flight no. 5Y5838 directly from Tampa, Florida after a flight time of 9 hours and 15 minutes.

Atlas Air started with flight operations in 1992. Currently they operate flights from numerous bases in the USA. There are more then 100 planes in the fleet: Boeing 747-8F, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 777F, Boeing 767-300, Boeing 767-200 and Boeing 737-800F, but only 13 planes are in passanger version, all others are freighters. An aircraft in Zagreb is one of  those 13 planes in passanger version. 

This aicraft was built in 1991 for Taiwanese air carrier Eva Air (BR/EVA). Until 2011, when it was taken over by Atlas Air, it was operated by many air carriers worldwide: TACA (TA/TAI) from Salvador, Britannia Airways (BY/BAL), Canadian Airlines (CP/CDN), Air Canada (AC/ACA), Air Madagascar (MD/MDG), Luzair (LUZ) from Portugal and SriLankan Airlines (UL/ALK).
