Slovenian flag carrier Adria Airways (JP/ADR), a member of Star Alliance, has temporarily stopped all flight operations. All flights have been cancelled for Tuesday and Wednesday, September 24th and 25th. The reason behind this is deficiency of financial resources needed for regular operation. During the last week, three of their Canadair CRJ-900s were confictated by the lessors.
Adria Airways was founded 58 years ago with the operational base in Ljubljana. It was the second biggest air carrier in ex-Yugoslavia. After the breakdown of ex-Yugoslavia, it became Slovenian flag air carrier. Adria used to have regular flight operations to Brač, Dubrovnik and Split. Charter operations were maintained from all other airports in Croatia. Following the last year’s summer timetable, Adria stopped operating regular flights to Croatia, so currently, there aren’t any flights cancelled from Croatia. We don’t have information about possible charter flights planned from Croatia till the end of the summer flight schedule.
Currently, at the end of operations, the Adria Airways fleet consisted of the following planes: 3 Airbus A319s, 6 Canadair CRJ-900s, without the 3 already conficated (in the picure), Canadair CRJ-700s and 4 Saab S-2000s.
