Brusseles Airlines Airbus A330 on the flight SN465 / BEL465 Brussels, Belgium (BRU) – Kigali, Rwanda (KGL), was diverted to Dubrovnik’s Cilipi Airport.
While in Croatian airspace, at an altitude of 37,000 feet (11,280 m), southwest of Dubrovnik, around 12:40 local time, the crew decided to divert the flight to the nearest airport, Dubrovnik.
The plane started the descend and landing procedure and landed safely on runway 11 of Dubrovnik Airport 17 minutes later, at 12:57.
As AvioRadar finds out, the crew has declared “PAN PAN” which is an international sign for a situation that is urgent but does not pose a direct danger to the aircraft and passengers.
The reason for declaring this situation is the health condition of one of the passengers who has problems with diabetes.
The aircraft was met on the ground by emergency services of Dubrovnik Airport and the passenger was immediately provided with the necessary assistance.
The aircraft is expected to continue its journey to its destination.
