Azorra has further increased its order for Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, taking the E2 program beyond the milestone of 500 total aircraft orders. According to Embraer’s announcement, the new agreement includes a firm order for 15 E195-E2 aircraft, along with purchase rights for 15 additional jets.
With this agreement, Azorra’s total firm orders for E2 family aircraft increase from 39 to 54 aircraft. This is the third increase to the original order placed by Azorra in December 2021, further confirming the continued cooperation between the U.S.-based leasing company and the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer.
Azorra is an aircraft lessor headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with an additional office in Dublin, providing airlines, investors and financial institutions with leasing, financing, fleet transition and asset management solutions. According to the company, its current fleet comprises 338 aviation assets, including 186 owned and managed aircraft, 103 owned engines and airframes, and a committed pipeline of 49 aircraft. These commitments include new Airbus A220-100/300 and Embraer E190/E195-E2 aircraft.
Azorra is also known to the Croatian public through its leasing arrangements with Croatia Airlines for a certain number of Airbus A220 aircraft. Croatia Airlines has secured part of its new fleet through agreements with leasing companies, including Azorra, as part of its fleet renewal and simplification around the Airbus A220 family.
For Embraer, the new order represents an important commercial milestone, as the E2 program has surpassed 500 total orders. According to the manufacturer, more than 200 E2 family aircraft are already in operation with 24 airline customers. Embraer says the E2 enables airlines to better match capacity with demand, reduce fuel consumption and improve passenger comfort.
John Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Azorra, said the company’s continued investment in Embraer’s E2 family reflects strong demand from airlines around the world. According to Evans, these are right-sized, highly efficient aircraft suitable for opening new markets, modernizing fleets and improving the passenger experience.
Evans added that Azorra, as an early supporter of the program, has worked closely with Embraer and Pratt & Whitney to expand the E2 customer base and introduce the aircraft to new operators across several global regions. He also noted that this order represents two important milestones: Azorra’s firm E2 orderbook now exceeds 50 aircraft, while the E2 program itself has passed the 500-order mark.
Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said Azorra has been an important partner in the global success of the E2 program. According to him, the latest order is another strong endorsement of the aircraft’s economics, performance and passenger appeal.
The E195-E2 is the largest commercial aircraft in Embraer’s portfolio. The manufacturer highlights its low fuel burn, reduced emissions, quiet operation, high reliability and passenger cabin arranged in a two-by-two seating configuration, with no middle seats. This layout provides more comfort for passengers, while giving airlines the flexibility and efficiency needed to serve a wide range of markets.
Azorra’s new order will be included in Embraer’s second-quarter 2026 results and backlog.
