Croatia Airlines and Kvarner Tourist Board continue their cooperation on the “Flavours of Kvarner” project, through which passengers will be introduced to the authentic tastes of this Croatian region during their flight. The project will run from April 1 to July 31, 2026, featuring specially designed meals inspired by coastal, island and mountain cuisine.
The meals are presented in visually distinctive boxes featuring Kvarner motifs, while an added digital component comes in the form of a QR code that allows passengers to access the “Visit Kvarner” app and explore the destination during the flight. The selection includes products such as rosemary sausage, crackers with žlahtina wine and sage, green olive spread, as well as sweets like dried fig biscuits and almond-lemon cookies.
According to information available on the airline’s website and standard industry practice, the onboard offering will vary depending on flight duration and travel class. In business class on international flights longer than one hour, passengers will be offered a larger food box, while on domestic routes and shorter international flights a smaller version will be served. In economy class, the service remains simpler, with passengers receiving biscuits or crackers accompanied by water.
The project is being implemented during the summer flight schedule, during which Croatia Airlines plans to operate to 32 international destinations and a total of 33 European airports, across 53 scheduled international routes. The Rijeka–Munich route plays a particularly important role in strengthening the region’s connectivity with European markets.
The project is also being introduced on the airline’s new generation fleet, including the Airbus A220, further linking the onboard gastronomic offer with an upgraded passenger experience. Through this initiative, Croatia Airlines continues to position Kvarner as a destination that begins already in the air, combining tourism, gastronomy and regional promotion into a single, cohesive product.
