Minor incident involving a Black Hawk military helicopter

The Croatian Ministry of Defense (MORH) reported a minor incident involving a Black Hawk military helicopter. Below is the full public statement issued regarding the incident:

“During a training exercise by the Croatian Armed Forces in preparation for Statehood Day celebrations, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter experienced a drift on Thursday, 29 May 2025, at Jarun Lake, causing the tips of the main rotor blades to come into contact with the edge of a tree canopy.

The incident resulted in minor damage to the rotor blade tips, which did not affect the helicopter’s operational readiness. The helicopter continued with its assigned mission.

An internal investigation will determine the circumstances of the incident, the extent of material damage, and any potential responsibility.

The event did not compromise the safety of the crew or civilians, and the helicopter safely proceeded to complete its planned tasks.”
